Camping, but you get to stand up straight. This is the whole glamping set up for two in one go: a canvas bell tent, a proper double mattress, two big flannel-lined sleeping bags, and two padded chairs for out the front. Pitch it, unroll it, sit down. Job done.

It's the kind of camp people walk past slowly on their way to the toilet block, pretending they're not having a look.

The tent: KingCamp Khan 400 canvas bell tent

Heavy 340gsm poly-cotton canvas that breathes and insulates, which is what canvas does best on hot afternoons and cold mornings. One aluminium centre pole holds it up, the walls rise 65cm before they slope, so the mattress can go right up to the edge, and the door is about 180cm tall. Roll the walls up on a warm day and the mesh inner keeps the bugs out while the breeze gets in. There's a built-in stove jack for a compatible camp stove when the nights get cold, and a heavy 510gsm PVC floor underneath.

The mattress: KingCamp Luxury 3D Double Self-Inflating Mat

200 x 130cm and 7.5cm thick, with an R-value of 7.5, so the cold ground stays on its side of things. Open the valve and the foam inflates it for you. The stretch top fabric feels more like a bed than a camping mat, which is rather the point.

The sleeping bags: KingCamp Freespace 250 x 2 (Olive)

Big rectangular bags, 220cm long and 100cm wide, so there's room to roll over without a wrestle. They're lined with soft cotton flannel, rated comfortable from 6 to 12°C, and they unzip fully to use as a blanket on warmer nights.

The chairs: KingCamp Padded Butterfly Chair x 2

Deep, padded and properly comfortable, on a steel frame that holds up to 136kg. They fold up for the car, and once you're in one you won't want to get up for the jug.
